The Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code are pleased to announce their public consultation inviting views on the outcomes of the Facility for Investment Ready Nature in Scotland (FIRNS) Biodiversity Crediting project is now open.
In December 2023, the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code began work on a parallel set of methodologies to allow projects to either quantify the biodiversity benefit of their project or potentially to produce both voluntary carbon and biodiversity credits. Over the last year, substantial work looking at how biodiversity quantification could be applied in Nature Markets under the Woodland Carbon Code and Peatland Code has been undertaken.
The Woodland Cardbon Code and Peatland Code would now like to hear your views on the draft methodology. This short survey should take around 20 minutes to complete and will run from 17th January 2025 until 17th February 2025. During this time, any relevant party may submit comments on the appropriateness of the proposed updates via a Microsoft form Biodiversity Methodology for Peatlands and Woodlands - Public Consultation.
