Shared Values and Management Pathways for Upland Welsh Peatlands
Join the UKRI Greenhouse Gas Peat project (funded by UKRI) for an engaging and hands-on workshop exploring the future of upland peatlands in Wales. This session will bring together land managers, policymakers, researchers, and community voices to share knowledge and shape practical, inclusive strategies for peatland restoration and climate action.

Workshop activities
Through interactive activities, participants will:
🌿 Identify the diverse values that influence peatland management
🔬 Explore emerging technologies, including biochar applications, from the UKRI GGR Peat project at Pwllpeiran
🌍 Co-create pathways for reducing and removing greenhouse gases in ways that are both effective and equitable
🚧 Discuss real-world barriers and how we can work together to overcome them

Anyone connected to upland peatland restoration – from landowners and farmers to conservation groups, utility providers, local councils, and beyond.
