From discovery to impact:
Seeking conservation practitioners and palaeoecology researchers to develop a ‘translational palaeoecology’ for practical conservation
Thursday 8th February, 2-4pm GMT
Jessica Gauld, a PhD student at the University of Manchester, is seeking participants to contribute to a short workshop bringing together conservation practitioners and researchers in the field of palaeoecology. Our understanding of past environments has important, but underutilised, value for conservation practices, and discussions will focus on how palaeoecological research can be co-produced more effectively to increase its practical relevance and application. Outcomes from the workshop will contribute to a co-authored manuscript which defines the conceptual framework for a translational branch of palaeoecology which connects discovery with conservation impact.
If you are a palaeoecological researcher or environmental management/conservation practitioner interested in supporting this research, please contact jessica.gauld@postgrad.manchester.ac.uk. More information on the study can be found in the attached participant information sheet.
