12th INTECEOL Wetlands Conference & 20th Annual Meeting of SWS Europe

The 12th INTECOL Wetlands Conference will take place together with the 20th Annual Meeting of the Society of Wetland Scientists Europe so there is an extra reason to visit Estonia in summer 2025! Everyone working on the science, practice, and policy of wetlands and ecological restoration will come together in Estonia, Tartu, to share knowledge and discuss the future of European nature.

Estonia is a relatively undiscovered country of wetlands – raised bogs, fens, swamp forests, and coastal marshes. Around 50% of Estonia’s territory is covered by forests, a considerable part of which are peatlands. Therefore, the INTECOL Wetlands conference in Tartu will serve as an excellent meeting point during this crucial time to develop the most effective approaches for wetland management. It offers an opportunity to promote the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and experiences among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from across the world. Participants include scientists and students from leading European universities; government officers from local and national agencies responsible for wetland management; representatives of multilateral organisations; local, national and international NGOs; representatives from the natural resources, extractive and energy industries; environmental consultants and contractors; landscape engineers and architects.

The event will feature outstanding plenary speakers, exciting social events and awe-inspiring technical tours. There are 9 thematic sessions and 35 topics, to which you are welcome to contribute.
