Researchers from the University of Leeds, Scotland’s Rural College and The James Hutton Institute have created a set of communication tools that provide a general and brief introduction to the benefits associated with improving peatland condition.
There are two communication tools:
- One for the general public, which forms an easy to follow learning module (hyperlink http://www.see.leeds.ac.uk/peatland-modules/?type=learning)
- And one targeted at land managers, which provides background information to assess the condition of peatlands in their land (hyperlink: http://www.see.leeds.ac.uk/peatland-modules/?type=assess.
The communication tools have been designed to represent peatlands in Scotland, but can be useful for other areas too.
The images and narratives representing the benefits from peatlands can be downloaded free for awareness raising and communication work by anyone who would like to.
They also include a feedback questionnaire to gather further views and preferences by the public and land managers.
