Online event, Monday 29 April, 13:00-14:00
The Fens East Peat Partnership (FEPP) with Natural England have arranged a series of monthly webinars on lowland peat restoration topics. The webinars will be combination of presentations and case studies, sharing information and experiences. These will include information gained through the FEPP NCPGS Discovery Project and the current NCPGS Restoration Project where 17 sites are undertaking peat restoration activity in the lowland Fens of Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
We also hope the sessions will encourage more discussion and questions to find ways to look after the remaining peat in the Fens that will allow food production and restoration to work together allowing the peat ecosystems to become sustainable and resilient to help us manage the impact of climate change.
This webinar will introduce the Peatland Programme’s latest issues brief ‘Peatlands and Agriculture’, our engagement work around biodiversity and our ‘Eyes on the Bog’ peatland monitoring initiative, and provide an update on the continuing development of the Peatland Code.
Speakers: Jess Williams – Peatland Programme Policy Lead, Jane Akerman - Peatland Programme Manager and Renée Kerkvliet-Hermans - Peatland Code Co-ordinator.
