Bog Day

This year's Bog Day falls on Sunday, 28th July and will see events across the country helping others to understand the importance of these fantastic places, and working together to make sure they are saved for future generations.

Bog Day logoBog Day celebrates bogs, fens and mires and all the great things they do for us: helping to fight climate change by storing carbon; providing us with clean drinking water; helping prevent flooding; providing great homes for our rare and endangered wildlife… the list goes on.

We'll be putting Bog Day centre-stage by promoting your events and providing resources to help communicate the beauty of bogs, the marvels of mires, and the fascination of fens.

If you're holding an event and, please send details to info@iucn.org.uk; we'll add them to our events pages and promote them through Twitter in the runup to the big day.

Take a look at our fun and learning resources page to find inspiring content from across the peatland community and some free downloadable actvities. If you have resources you'd like to contribute, send us the links and we'll add to the page. We also have Bog Day branding that you can use to badge your events and tie up with other Bog Day activities around the country.
